 •  •  Hell's Kitchen: Ms Dynamite sacked by the public

Tonight's Hell's Kitchen saw the celebrities whittled down to three as the public voted for Niomi McLean-Daley to be sacked.

With just the four celebs, the work in the kitchen had to to be spread thinly.  The pressure built up during service, with each of the amateur cooks multi-tasking.  "It is a competition.  It's not a tea party," Marco reminded them.

It had also been an emotional day for the four remaining celebrities as they considered who much they had bonded with each other since they had arrived in Hell's Kitchen.  There were tears - even from Adrian Edmondson, the last remaining boy.

But one person had to go and the public chose Niomi - aka rapper Ms Dynamite.  The singer, who had both ups and downs during her time on the show, seemed surprised to be leaving, but had earlier stated that she was amazed to be in the final four.

Speaking to Hell's Kitchen host Claudia Winkleman after being sacked, Niomi described her time in the kitchen as an "amazing experience" and tipped model Danielle Bux to win the show.   Source

 •  •  Ms Dynamite evicted from Hell's Kitchen :(!

Pop star Niomi McLean-Daley became the latest celebrity to be booted off Hell's Kitchen. The singer, aka Ms Dynamite, said she was "not at all shocked" to be the first contestant to be evicted by the public.

She told presenter Claudia Winkleman: "There is a big element of me that is thinking ... I will get to give my son a kiss goodnight for the first time in a long time." She added: "It was one of the most amazing experiences of my life."

Friday's show was the first of the series where the public vote evicted a contestant. Previously they were sacked by chef Marco Pierre White.

McLean-Daley made her mark on the show by standing up to White. When questioned about her confrontation with the chef she said: "I was woman enough to speak my mind but I would like to be woman enough to apologise for the way that I spoke to him.

"He'll probably kill me for saying this but he's lovely. I've come across some guys that are a lot scarier than Marco, he's lovely and he's got a huge heart."

When she was saying goodbye to the other contestants she reassured them saying: "I am going on a high. Thank you so much."   Source

 •  •  Ms Dynamite makes a not-so-explosive exit

Ms Dynamite makes a not-so-explosive exit from Hell's Kitchen after the first public vote! Rapper Ms Dynamite became the first contestant to be voted out of Hell's Kitchen by the public on Friday night. Over the last week, head chef Marco Pierre White has been firing the weakest in the kitchen, but his power was diminished when viewers were given the chance to vote for their favourite.

The London rapper, who has worked in the kitchen under her real name Niomi McLean-Daley, received the lowest number of votes, meaning her time behind Marco's stove was over.

* Sayonara: "Niomi McLean-Daley, aka Ms Dynamite, is the first person to be voted off Hell's Kitchen by the public".

Hell's Kitchen presenter Claudia Winkleman gathered Niomi and her fellow chefs Ade Edmondson, Linda Evans and Danielle Bux to inform them of their fate during the live show. Claudia kept Niomi and Dynasty star Linda on tenterhooks as she strung out the suspense of who was leaving for as long as possible. After Niomi's name was finally announced, Linda, 66, embraced the 27-year-old before returning to the kitchen with Marco.

Fond farewell: "Linda Evans hugs Niomi after she learns she is leaving the show".

Speaking to Claudia, Niomi insisted she was disappointed to go and was glad she had stuck it out when she nearly quit earlier this week. She said: 'I'm going on a high. Thank you so much. 'I would have loved to stay, but the big element [about leaving] is I get to kiss my son tonight for the first time in a long time. She explained: 'He's lovely. He's got a huge heart. I would like to apologise for the way I spoke to him. I could have come across a bit better.' When asked who she thought would win, Niomi insisted she loved them all but would like Danielle to win.

* Tension: "Linda and Niomi were kept waiting to find out who was leaving".

Friday's episode started off with the final four taking part in an egg task. Marco told the quartet they would have to make an egg dish for him choosing their ingredients from a wide selection of eggs. The contestants were stunned to find an enormous nest containing goose, hen, ostrich, quail, pheasant and duck egg.  Niomi went for a simple option of cooking eggy bread, explaining it was the kind of dish she would make for her five-year-old son.

* Close team: "Ade, Danielle, Linda and Niomi hold hands as they await the result of the public vote".

Niomi told them: 'For once in my life I kind of feel a bit speechless.' Marco told her: 'I would vote for you because I admire you, it’s very simple…because when someone can be knocked down and they can pick themselves up and stand straight you have to admire them.' Niomi replied: 'I know things have to be as they are. I understand that I had to go through what I went through and I really thank you for giving me the opportunity and the time to be able to pick myself back up, because you could have easily said "right you didn’t try hard today".'   Source

 •  •  Ms Dynamite, aka Niomi Daley, is now to battle it out for the overall title

Marco Pierre White's final sacking of Anthea Turner means Hell's Kitchen now moves to a public vote for its final period.

A rather relieved Ms Dynamite, aka Niomi Daley, is now to battle it out for the overall title along with Ade Edmondson, Gary Lineker's fiancee, Danielle Bux, and Dynasty star Linda Evans.

Meanwhile, we're all wondering what the body snatchers have done with the real Marco as the man on the show last night seemed too warm and cuddly to be Britain's original bad boy of the kitchen. Watch Hell's Kitchen on ITV1 from 9pm.

 •  •  Shameless emotion in Hell's Kitchen

* Shameless emotion in Hell's Kitchen
TV presenter Anthea Turner was surprised she had avoided the chop on Sunday night, commenting: "I absolutely thought that I was going ... I have to be honest that not having Jody here it is calmer."

But Niomi MacLean-Daley - aka Miss Dynamite - "missed his energy", while model Danielle Bux felt the absence of the "noise of Jody".

Marco also revealed a new twist to the show's format - splitting the celebs into two teams with comedian Adrian Edmondson and Ms Dynamite as their leaders.

* Hells Kitchen Walkout
Sacked Grant Bovey wondered if Niomi Daley, aka Ms Dynamite, may have been the one to leave.

Niomi is very principled,” he said. “If it’s her who’s gone, I’ll be miffed because I think last night’s sacking was between her and me. It’s a waste of a position.”

 •  •  Ms Dynamite showing fans a side of Niomi on Hell's Kitchen

Ms Dynamite has confessed she might lose her temper if she is given a roasting by Hell's Kitchen's Marco Pierre White.

The 27-year-old rapper - real name Niomi McLean-Daley - is among the eight celebrities who will be cooking under the three-Michelin-starred chef in the ITV1 reality show, but she confessed she doesn't take orders very well.

Niomi said: "I don't respond very well to being barked at or having orders thrown at me or just being forced to do stuff. I hope I'll be really respectful and really cool. I'm there to learn, he's got something to teach me, but it depends on how it's put across. We'll see..."

The hip-hop star is hoping to show viewers the real her, saying: "I've always tried to keep Niomi totally separate from Ms Dynamite when I've done public stuff. But I'm not going in the kitchen to cook as an entertainer so I'm Niomi, there's no getting away from it now."

The celebrities will forced to wait tables this year as punishment for performing badly in the kitchen. Hell's Kitchen begins at 9pm on Monday April 13.

 •  •  New Vegetarian Ms. Dynamite Might Struggle On Hell’s Kitchen

The UK Hell’s Kitchen is back, full of celebrity cooking adventures.

One contestant on the show is Ms. Dynamite, born Niomi McLean Daley, an award winning hip hop singer and rapper.

Depending on the challenges given, Ms. Dynamite might have some performance problems on the show, given the fact that she recently turned vegetarian.

“Once I started to cut down on the meat and dairy products, it started to improve - it was all down to vanity, to be honest,” she told the UK Daily Mail. “I don’t want to get on my high horse about it but I do feel a lot healthier in my diet. I don’t think I would struggle to cook meat during the show but gutting and skinning an animal would be a different story.”

The new series of Hell’s Kitchen starts next week in the UK on ITV1 .

 •  •  Hell’s Kitchen 2009: Starring Anthea Turner, Danielle Bux, Ms Dynamite and more

Hell’s Kitchen 2009: Starring Anthea Turner, Danielle Bux, Ms Dynamite, Adrian Edmondson, Bruce Grobbelaar, Grant Bovey, Jody Latham & Linda Evans

Marco Pierre White is back in the kitchen as a group of unsuspecting celebrities prepare to face a journey into hell as they attempt to feed a restaurant packed full of discerning diners each night.

The celebrities will leave their star status firmly at the kitchen door as Marco puts them to the ultimate test. They will learn how to cook a menu of classic dishes inspired by food Marco likes to eat and will have to live up to his exacting standards.

Claudia Winkleman will host the live show nightly from the Hell’s Kitchen restaurant in East London when it returns for its fourth series on Monday April 13.

The celebrities taking part in the show are: TV presenter Anthea Turner; model Danielle Bux; singer Ms Dynamite; actor and comedian Adrian Edmondson; former Liverpool goalie Bruce Grobbelaar; Entrepreneur Grant Bovey; actor Jody Latham and actress Linda Evans.

Marco, dubbed the godfather of British cuisine, will attempt to work his magic on the rookie chefs as they have just two weeks to learn how to dish up a feast fit for showbiz royalty.

He will push them to their limits to achieve perfection and crank up the heat to ensure every diner is fed.

This time there will be no room for error as Marco will have the power to sack the celebrities who he thinks aren’t up to the job. When it comes to choosing the series winner, the power will be back in the hands of the viewers who will vote for their favourite.

And, for the first time on Hell’s Kitchen, each night the two trainee chefs who have failed to impress Marco will feel the heat as he banishes them into the restaurant to wait on tables. Each guest waiter will be responsible for serving half the restaurant under the direction of maitre d’ Nick Munier.

They will have to take all orders and deliver food to the tables, plus they will be responsible for dishing out the desserts from the trolley.

It’s every cook for themselves as they work in just one team to impress both Marco and the customers.

And with just one kitchen there will be nowhere to hide for the rookie chefs.

Plus Marco will be inviting celebrity chefs including his friends Jean Christophe Novelli and Mario Batali to Hell’s Kitchen where they will put the trainees through their paces in a set of unique challenges.
