Ms Dynamite headlines UK Black Pride festival 2011 in London this weekend

A Mercury Prize winner for her 2002 debut album A Little Deeper and currently making a comeback with her Labrinth-produced new single “Neva Soft,” UK rapper/singer Ms Dynamite headlines the 6th UK Black Pride Festival this weekend on Saturday, August 20, taking place at Torrington Square, University of London, London WC1E 7JL.

The event, which promotes “unity and co-operation among all Black people of African, Asian, Caribbean, Middle Eastern and Latin American descent, as well as their friends and families” who identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual or Transgender, is to be hosted by actor, director and screen writer Rikki Beadle-Blair winner of 2011 Drag Idol, Son ofa Tutu and Khadijatou.

Scheduled performances include 2009 X Factor contestant, songwriter and choreographer Duane Lamonte; dynamic urban dance crew Emotions; rapper J-Soul; beautiful drag performer Asifa Lahore; up-and-coming urban music trio Project Caramel; contemporary dancer Luke Anwar; singer Lotus Grey; performance poet Freelaylay; acoustic singer/songwriters Remi & Jules; African drummers Fororyaa and rapper Zara Skyes.
