Ms Dynamite headlines UK Black Pride 2011

It is with the greatest excitement that UK Black Pride announces the headline act for this year’s festival as Multi Mobo Award Winner, 2002 Mercury Music Prize winner and Platinum recording artist Ms Dynamite!

Fresh from headlining this year’s Glastonbury Festival where Ms Dynamite opened her set with ‘Dy-Na-Mi-Tee’ before launching into her more recent Garage and Drum ‘n Bass hits. Performing to a packed crowd on the Wow stage, Ms Dynamite played songs from her new album, including the chart-topping hit ‘Lights On’ with London dubstep star Katy B; her Magnetic Man hook-up ‘Fire’; her Redlight collaboration ‘What You Talkin’ About?’ and her new Labrinth-produced single ‘Neva Soft’.

The 6th annual UK Black Pride festival will take place on Saturday 20th August 2011 at the exclusive and central Torrington Square, Birkbeck College, London WC1E 7JL. Established in 2005, UK Black Pride is Europe’s biggest and best celebration of African, Asian, Caribbean and Middle Eastern LGBT people attracting visitors from all over Europe. A community event led by a dedicated team of volunteers, UK Black Pride won the coveted Pink Paper Readers’ Award 2011 for ‘Best Black Minority Ethnic Organisation’.

 Phyll Opoku-Gyimah, Director of UK Black Pride said: “We are so excited to have secured Ms Dynamite as our headline act for 2011. UK Black Pride is firmly established at the leading community led event for all people. We are looking forward to bringing the vibrancy and diversity of UK Black Pride to our new home, Torrington Square in the heart of London. Our fantastic line up of established and emerging acts and DJs is sure to get London partying late into the night!”

UK Black Pride will once again host a full line up of performing acts and DJs at the main stage and in the dance tents. There will also be licensed bars, sumptuous world food, a VIP tent, chill out zone, games area, education and welfare workshops, community stalls, children’s area and much, much more.
