Ms. Dynamite ‘Neva Soft’ Exclusive Review

Since her return to the music scene after a 5 year hiatus, Ms. Dynamite has been stirring up quite a storm. A million features later, a performance at RockNess and appearances on some of the hottest club bangers over last 18 months including DJ Zinc’sWile Out‘, RedlightsWhat You Talking About‘ and the top 10 ‘Lights On‘ with Katy B, she is finally ready to drop her solo material.

Neva Soft‘, the first single taken from her long-awaited third album (due to be released early next year) is a fine example of old school values and new school principles. Produced by Labrinth, the UKs answer to Timbaland only better, the song shows a new direction for the 30 year old singer.

In comparison to her previous efforts the single reveals a more adventurous side to Ms. Dynamite but is equally as raw and edgy in style, proving this time around she is a force to be reckoned with. It’s alot darker, and with a juttering percussion, an anthemic hook and a drum ‘n’ bass rhythm to match the tone of the gritty bassline I’m sure it will become a favourite with festival goers this summer, which is just as well as she will be performing at this years Glastonbury and Bestival.

Merging both her singing talents and Jamaican Patois style MCing, the stand alone track makes for a great listen, and believe me, you will find time to do just that, either in your headphones, car stereo or in a club somewhere.

She’s officially back people, and this time she’s better than ever.
